When Abigale misses Marple ...

.... she goes boar hunting.

For those of you who are not familiar with this exquisite hunting practice, check out wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boar_hunting).

And for our beloved Marple, here are the photos that Abigale took especially for her.

I love beautiful objects. I love creating them. Negative people upset me.

Post in The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs blog:

Everyone in LA is in a tizzy because American Idol is in a tailspin and nobody is watching TV anymore and oh my God what on earth could be happening. Guy ends by saying that the iPhone has freed people up from their boob tubes. I think he's kidding (kind of) but the fact is, he's right. It's tail wagging the dog time. Technology driving content. People in the 18- to 25-year-old demographic have opted out of mainstream TV and they're never coming back. Kids younger than that never even opted in to mainstream TV to begin with. They are growing up with iPhone as their primary content consumption device. You know why this is? Because ten years ago, or actually twenty years ago, I saw all of this coming. I saw the chips, the software, the memory, the network bandwidth -- I saw the path these technologies were on. I could see how they were evolving and I could map out exactly when each one would become good enough. All I had to do then was wait. And hire some great designers. And scare the shit out of a bunch of engineers. It all worked. Now I am the king of the world. I am a golden god. Bow down, O world, and worship me.

Madonna
Miles Away
2008 Warner Bros. Records Inc.

I just woke up from a fuzzy dream
And I never want to see
the things that I have seen
I looked in the mirror and I saw your face
You looked back through me,
you were miles away.

All my dreams, they fade away
I'll never be the same
If you could see me the way you see yourself
And pretend to be someone else

You'll always love me more
Miles away
I hear it in your voice when we're
Miles away
You're not afraid to tell me
Miles away
I guess we're at our best when we're
Miles away

So far away
So far away
So far away

Faith[less]Full

Packing your bags like people in the movies do,
All severe, and not saying a word,
And I'm sitting down here just watching you,
And I'm thinking:
Where is all the love gone?
Where's the love gone to?

Don't leave,
You got me hurting,
Don't leave
You know it's never been easy to love someone like me,
Oh, don't leave.

Hanging with friends like we used to do,
I didn't know anything was wrong,
And last night while I was thinking it through,
Trying to find who am I and what d'you need me to do?
Don't leave.
There's a record you used to play,
there's Joni singing 'bed's too big without you',
And I know just what she's singing it for.
Where did all the love go?
Where's the love gone to?
Don't leave.
You got me hurting,
Don't leave.
You know it's never been easy to love someone like me,
Oh, don't leave.

Where did all the love go?
Where's the love gone to?
Don't leave.

We'll fly around the world, give you what you're giving me,
I should dress you up in pearl,
And finest silk to touch your skin,
Don't know how to write a love song,
But Don't leave.
You got me hurting,
Don't leave.
You know it's never been easy to love someone like me,
Don't leave.
Don't leave.
Don't leave.
Don't leave.

Frequencies...

You always love me more
Miles away
I hear it in your voice when you’re
Miles away

You’re not afraid to tell me
Miles away
I guess we’re at our best when we’re
Miles away

/A ballad on Madonna’s new album, Miles Away/

Overload

While I was trying to convince myself to start working on my statistics project, I did what?! - Yes, that's right - procrastinate :-) but at least I came upon this other blog and this entry that feels so close.

So here it goes.

1. On desire

We all have a heart’s desire.

We think erroneously that our heart’s desire should materialise effortlessly.

We think we should enjoy it without doing any work.

I believe if you want something bad enough, nothing is outside your reach. If you dream of something hard enough, eventually you will have it.

But, dreaming, planning, preparing are never enough. When it’s crunch time, it requires a heart of courage to obtain your desire.

It requires courage to face up to the hard work ahead to keep your heart’s desire.

A friend once asked me if faced with 2 choices: A and B, and both are good choices, how do you know which is God’s will for you? Do you pray for a sign?

I said, based on my Bible knowledge: “God always favours courage. If both choices are good, then pick one, but pick it with all your heart, and go with it without looking back. Don’t be double-minded. God blesses the courageous.”

If an opportunity is open right now, and we’re hesitating for too long, letting it slip by, our cowardice is the only reason for our misery.

Of course there is a moment to wait, regroup and prepare, but if we’ve past that stage, and we’re still mucking about in indecisiveness, and worse yet, the opportunity, wide open in front of us, is fast closing, then we’re fools.

That opportunity has your name on it. It belongs to you. It appeared because you wanted it to appear.

You had better reach for what is yours. No one is going to do it for you.

What an irony: you plan, wait, and prepare for your desire. Then it materialises, and it scares you and instead of grasping onto it, you let it go.

And then you turn around and search for second best — because second best is easier to live with, easier to live up to. Second best has less challenges. It may not satisfy you completely, but at least it won’t demand the best from you.

What a sad end to a promising beginning. You only have yourself to kick.

2. On relationships

I’ve come this far to know that while relationships are romantic and wonderful, its also about Real Life.Relationships are about accomodating someone else who has a completely different point of view from yourself. It’s about humility and growth.

Relationships bring two people from two different worlds into collision course with each other — producing unpredictable, messy, but ultimately glorious results.

Relationships force you to grow up. No selfish person ever had a long, satisfying relationship. The fastest way to lose many of your rights is by getting yourself a life partner. Suddenly you’re responsible for another life besides your own. That’s growth. And that’s good.

3. On persistence

Persistence. It sounds good and clean on paper, but in practice it’s sweaty and gritty. But what amazing things can happen with persistence. I always remind myself never to belittle that one word.

Persistence makes the hardest heart soft. It opens doors that you thought were tightly shut, and knocks down walls the world builds to oppose you.

Persistence is not about how big you are, how strong or mighty, intelligent or good-looking you are. It has nothing to do with the graces we are gifted with at birth.

Persistence is all about keeping-at-it, and it’s a powerful trait that belongs to both the great and the small. Even the smallest things on this planet, with persistence, builds the largest and most complex of creations.

“If you think you’re too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito in the room.”

- Anita Roddick

When “crazy, weird, and mental” is a compliment.

“People ask me, how do I become more creative? I always say, don’t think ‘creative’. Think ‘crazy’. The crazier the more creative. When someone says — your idea’s normal — you should feel insulted.”

Creativity is always illogical at first glance. Sometimes, it remains illogical. It’s a cliché but I wonder the laughs God must have had when he created the platypus.

Nano-science is the most creative field of science. Everything we see around us — all physical matter, living or non-living, visible like the clouds or invisible like the wind — find their origins in nano-science. By its very nature, nano-science is creative. But nano-science defies all the laws of science. Scientists today are still baffled — in a most marvelous way — at the eccentricities of nano-science.

“What is true on the macro-level of physics is utterly opposite when we enter the sub-atomic level of physics,” a prominent scientist stated. “It’s like entering a whole new world where up is down, and left is right. The laws are all mixed up.”

Creativity is illogical at first. It stops you and makes you think. Creativity is not normal. Creativity is weird. And it’s your weirdness that makes you unique. That is until your weirdness makes you famous, and everyone wants to be weird like you, and then your weirdness suddenly becomes common.

“If you’re weird, mental, eccentric, or even schizophrenic, you’ll find your home as a creative in an ad agency. In fact, the more non-conformist the better. The worst thing you can ever be is bland.”

Sometimes genius is organised. Sometimes it is in total disarray, like something hit by a bomb. Genius often speaks in another language; sometimes its a language not found on this planet. The most creative geniuses are familiar with the word “crazy”. Likewise, the craziest geniuses are also the most creative.

“The best advice I can give to budding creatives is: Stop playing safe! Dial it up!”

Saved!

The world was expecting the video tomorrow, but iTunes made my evening by putting it on sale today. Some first quick impressions:

1. Madonna is hot. Who doesn't want to look like this in their 50s?

2. Justin and Timbaland are hot, too. But they should be, if they want to keep up with The Star ;-)

3. I love the moves. I am actually considering doing the same thing tomorrow while shopping in Esselunga (Esselunga is a chain of supermarkets in Northern Italy).

4. My theory for the "black" things is that they are projections coming from the stereo. Basically, music will save us ... songs will save us....Madonna will save us...for only 4 minutes. Or at least this is the effect on me.

Just one more day!!! Until then, here's something for my hungry eyes (and for yours, if you are sharing the passion)

Daddy-O

The news from the last hour:

1. Madonna breaks Elvis' Billboard record.

2. She likes to be on top. (Elle May 2008)

3. Madonna sleeps with her Blackberry. Yeah! That's right!

[Citing:]
The pop superstar made the unusual confession in a new interview, claiming there is nothing 'unromantic' about their dual habit.

Speaking as she prepares to release new album 'Hard Candy', Madonna said having the device close by allows her to start work at any moment. 'We lie right next to each other with our Blackberries under our pillows. It's not unromantic. It's practical.'

'I'm sure loads of couples have their Blackberries in bed with them', she explained to Elle magazine. 'I have to sleep with my Blackberry because I often wake up in the middle of the night and remember that I've forgotten something, so I jump up and make notes.'

Girl Power

I like powerful women because I believe they can bring both order and beauty in this messy world. And I believe they can bring a lot of fun, too. From Sarah Silverman and Ellen DeGeneres, through Madonna and Angelina Jolie, to Hillary Clinton and Queen Rania, women are here to change the world. And they are actually doing something. Something I simply admire.

The first two videos are:
-Sarah Silverman's bday present for her boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel:

-Hillary Clinton's take on of the above video (By Hugh & Jez Atkin http://hmatkin.blogspot.com)

Back to something serious (addressed by a woman) - this video is an YouTube message from Queen Rania which I find extremely true because unfortunately, even with all those possibilities for connections among us, we are still fighting with so many misconceptions (and not only regarding the Arab world).

Set up your clocks! Tick Tock Tick Tock

Here are the first stills from Madonna's upcoming video for her new single - "4 Minutes", starring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. Only 4 days to "4 Minutes" because the video is set to have its release this Friday. Tick Tock.

She looks so amazing and stunning! And this wound on Justin's body ... hmmm.. I can bet she did it - cut him like he is a bad boy, even when he's been good to her. [recall her "Spank Me" lyrics]
April is obviously going to be one hell of a month. Don't forget to check the stores for her album.

I know I will do it for sure. Because she got me dialing into her frequency a long, long time ago. [check out her interview in April's Vanity Fair edition on www.vanityfair.com]. Tick Tock.
